The Govt. of delhi vide notification had declared whole area of the NCT Delhi as market area for regulation of flower trade. Vide notification, Mehrauli was declared as Principal Yard of flower and Fatehpuri as its subsidary market, and again, vide notification, Connaught Place was also declared as sub-yard of flower market Mehrauli.
To consolidate the flower trade at one place and under one roof and to meet the growing requirement of the trade in the global context, all three notified markets were de-notified vide notification and a temporary flower market was set up in the area of 15 acre at IFC Ghazipur, Delhi and declared as Principal Yard for Flower Marketing.
